Skyrim 10th Anniversary Concert

An Epic Celebration

Merregnon Studios
Bethesda Softworks

A once-in-a-lifetime musical event as the London Symphony Orchestra and London Voices Choir, lead by conductor Ben Parry, take us through the sounds of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim at the historical Alexandra Palace Theatre.

Skyrim is a hugely popular, role-playing video game first released in 2011. As part of the tenth-anniversary celebrations, we worked with regular collaborators Merregnon Studios to produce this multi-camera concert film for software publisher Bethesda Softworks.

Our result was a 60-minute online concert of twelve pieces. In the first seven days after release, the concert film gathered over half a million views on Youtube and Twitch and a fantastic reception from fans. Take a look at the full concert on Youtube.

With its distressed walls and crumbling Victorian details, the newly renovated theatre at Alexandra Palace was aesthetically the perfect fit for the project. However, to achieve the effect we needed to rig an entirely new lighting truss and equip it suitably to cover this vast space.

With filming taking place during red list travel restrictions, it meant the teams from Bethesda’s US office and Merregnon Studios were only able to attend remotely, leaving us in London to work together with Bethesda’s UK office to produce this concert film on site. No small task considering the scale of the show and, most importantly, the expectations of Skyrim fans around the world.
