Academy of Ancient Music
Since 2017, Barbican Associate Ensemble the Academy of Ancient Music have invited us to capture and create material around their upcoming concerts.
To give the audience a true taste of the experience, we wanted them to see what the conductor sees. The virtuosity, energy and collaboration behind every performance.
Video sessions are a rare opportunity to capture the ensemble, away from an audience, or pressure of a CD recording. It gives us unique access to the ensemble, to get up close, catching the moments of emotion that really make a performance.
Video sessions are an interesting opportunity for us to capture performance without the constraints of an audience or the pressures of a CD recording.
From the raw material, we cut a versatile collection of extracts totaling nearly 90 minutes of music. From a session like this. AAM were able to spread the material across channels, throughout the season.
