An online teaching resource for Key-Stage 2
The MusicPlus Digital website is an online First Access programme designed to teach Key Stage 2 ukulele lessons to classes of students. The website offers students and teachers a full year of ukulele tuition incorporating key music skills and national curriculum outcomes.
For this project we stepped outside of our usual video role to steer the project through all stages. Beginning with briefs for our designer, Ge Song, to come up with a child friendly design based around the bug theme Soundhub had chosen. And for our developer, Rob from Hotbox, to find a reliable solution for the project that would enable it to get dropped into schools across the country.
Alongside the design and development process we started scripting and rehearsing. Worked closely with the presenter Jake Painter and Missy Mills from Soundhub Kent to make sure the scripts were tight and ready for the studio. We spent a total of six days in a small hot studio pushing Jake through the script and the songs. With film in the can we began our post production process, after standard editing and colour correction we needed to work with Adobe Edge to produce animations that would remain in sync with the video at all times. This was a vital aspect of the project.
The cloud based software solution developed for MusicPlus Digital integrates HTML5 Video and Adobe Edge Animate powered animations. The software developed for MusicPlus Digital allows for secure online administration and management of the videos and animations.
